Job Title: Operations Manager
Location: Onsite | St. Paul, MN
Schedule: Mon-Fri 0700-1600 CST. Additional hours as required.
Salary: $85-105k

Job Summary:

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the regional transportation network. This includes monitoring transportation costs, service level agreements, and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and drive efficiency. The role requires close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to meet capacity and revenue goals, while maintaining strong relationships with customers, drivers and external transportation providers to ensure service levels are consistently met.

What does a normal day look like?

• Oversee the P&L of terminals within the assigned region.
• Ensure full adherence to all applicable laws and regulations governing transportation and operations.
• Maintain the highest standards of service for both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and prompt issue resolution.
• Build effective business relationships with assigned account(s).
• Accurately communicate customer expectations, monitor appointment dates and driver's PTA's to make sure customer needs are met, providing verbal dispatch for required JIT/time sensitive customers.
• Accurately communicate with the customer and Driver when there's a challenge to meet their requirements/needs/expectations.
• Lead and manage a team of 5-8 Fleet Managers overseeing operations in the assigned region.
• Coordinate with customers and the sales team to address any activities that may impact service levels, rates, or fleet operations, ensuring seamless communication.
• Ensure optimal scheduling, routing, and safe operations across the fleet.
• Work closely with the sales team to align operational goals with business objectives.
• Regularly analyze and assess the efficiency and effectiveness of operational processes, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

• Proficient in MS Excel and other MS Office Suite programs.
