Welder/Fabricator

The Welder/Labor will weld, plasma cut, and grind metal pieces and products by using welding equipment, plasma cutter, grinders and hand tools. This position will also assist on the floor, operating various machines and equipment.

• Be able to read a tape measure and other measuring equipment
• Read blueprints and weld metals according to customer or employer requirements
• Examine created welds to check for defects/flaws
• Ability to learn and perform different methods of welding

·        Operation of various machines and equipment. Sets and adjusts necessary controls to regulate machines

• Perform set up of machine, prepare fixtures and feeding devices, starts machine and engages feed
• Perform safety and quality checks

·        Performs other related duties as assigned

• Basic math, measurement, and computer skills
• Ability to follow written instructions, diagrams, and blueprints
• Ability to follow proper safety protocols

• Previous welding experience is a plus
• Basic experience with hand tools
• High School Diploma or equivalent GED
• Must be 18 years old

·        Must be able to work in noisy environments

·        Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping

·        Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work

·        Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced

·        Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds at times

·        Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials
