What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fabricator position at BPG LLC dba J-Tech?
Summary:
Responsible for assembling structural metal products using tools, machines, and their own hands. Fabricates various types of products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop layout and plan sequence of operations, stock allowances for thickness, machine and welding shrinkage, and physical properties of metal.
• Locate and mark bending and cutting lines onto workpiece.
• Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, and drill presses.
• May set up and operate machine tools associated with fabrication, such as drill press, end mill, and milling machine and shaver.
• Fabricate and assemble structural metal products.
• Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications, using jigs and hand tools.
• Weld truck frame/ install tail end mount (attenuator, hitch, basket).
• Lay out and examine metal stock or workpieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met.
• Verify conformance of workpieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.
• Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as needed.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required. Must have welding experience but if not a certified welder, must work towards obtaining a certification (J-Tech will teach and train).
Welding test will be required.
Pay is negotiable and based on experience and skill sets.
Monday - Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm
