Tabrizi Construction is seeking an experienced Environmental Specialist to join our team on a major construction project in White Plains, NY. In this role, you will take the lead in managing and ensuring the environmental compliance of our construction activities. You will oversee a wide range of environmental aspects of the project, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations while promoting best practices in environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities:
As an Environmental Specialist, your primary duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Environmental Inspections & Monitoring: Conduct routine environmental inspections and storm event monitoring at construction sites. This includes water quality, underwater noise, and other environmental parameters.
- Remediation Activities: Lead and oversee the planning and execution of remediation efforts for hazardous materials, including lead, mercury, PCBs, and asbestos.
- Soil & Water Quality Management: Develop and implement soil sampling plans, classify soil, and ensure compliance with NYSDEC (New York State Department of Environmental Conservation) guidelines.
- Stormwater Management: Select, install, and maintain Stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs). Oversee the implementation of Construction Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs).
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the project is compliant with a range of environmental regulations, including federal, state, and local laws. Track and report compliance with inspection and reporting requirements.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of inspections, environmental conditions, and regulatory requirements. Prepare timely and accurate reports for project stakeholders.
- Collaboration & Training: Work closely with construction managers and field teams to integrate environmental strategies into the project’s daily operations. Provide guidance and training on environmental practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline.
- Meet the NYSDEC definition for a Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP).
- LEED Sustainability Coordinator certification is preferred but not required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in environmental fieldwork, management, and/or engineering, preferably within the construction industry.
- Experience managing environmental compliance on large construction projects, including soil, water, air quality, and hazardous materials management.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations at the federal, state (NYSDEC), and local levels in New York, particularly with construction-related environmental management practices.
