SUMMARY OF PURPOSE
Reporting directly to the District Manager (DM), the General Manager plays a vital leadership role in our Restaurant Operations team. In this role, you're responsible for ensuring that our restaurant consistently delivers outstanding guest hospitality and top-tier food quality, sharing our love of Tacos. You will help foster a strong team culture that aligns with our purpose and values, creating a positive and inclusive work environment. We're looking for an experienced, organized, detail-oriented, and passionate General Manager, who is experienced in building and leading high-performing teams.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the development of the Assistant General Manager, Service Leads, and Team Members and inspire them to lead shifts that promote an exceptional guest experience.
- Work hands-on identifying, prioritizing, and delegating tasks to the leadership team and team members. Lead to your team’s strengths by putting the right people in the right places at the right times.
- Delegate tasks that promote learning and professional growth for your team.
- Actively take part in learning how to interview, hire and retain new talent. Select the best talent that fits with Tacodeli Culture.
- Learn how to partner with HR and your DM to understand performance management, progressive discipline, and how to have effective, positive yet direct communication with your team.
- Learn to execute thoughtful and transparent values conversations around performance.
- Write thoughtful schedules that meet the needs of the business.
- Demonstrate the ability to have crucial conversations with your team and celebrate wins!
- Role model and coach Team Members to consistently provide genuine hospitality to our guests while maintaining and executing all basic service standards.
- Ensure that you understand how to execute all appropriate Health Department regulations educating the team on the execution of all Tacodeli food safety and quality standards.
- Gain insight and understanding on how to lead Kitchen employees alongside the Kitchen Manager on the execution of exceptional food quality.
- Business acumen! Demonstrate the ability to read financial reports and take part in the management of financial tracking tools. Show a high level of accountability when targets are not being met and be able to put a thoughtful and executable action plan together to course correct.
- Lead by example and hold teams accountable for operational excellence in product quality, consistency of execution, speed of service, cleanliness, and guest service.
- Lead recognition and creation of a strong team culture through accountability, collaboration, and effective communication.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Expected to work all shifts, including nights and weekends, we close at 9pm.
- Hands on
- Experience hiring, developing, training, and setting clear expectations and follow-up.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work cohesively in a team environment as well as perform job functions independently.
- Proven skills in organizing work, attention to detail, giving direction, delegating tasks, managing time effectively, and handling multiple tasks in a timely manner.
