What are the responsibilities and job description for the Eyeglass sales associate/Optician (experience preferred) position at Tacoma Eye?
Do you have experience as an optician in Washington or have you completed hours towards an optician apprentice in WA State? Would you like to provide outstanding, individual service to each and every customer and be recognized for your hard work?
Tacoma Eye is a small privately owned optometry office. We are looking for someone who has experience working in an optical and wants to learn those special new skills necessary for a career as a lead optician. Experience is required.
**Persons with an active LDO will get a higher hourly compensation and other benefits. If you are already licensed we'd love to talk to you about ways you can work to height of your licensure grow our optical and reap the benefits - (Bonuses and base pay depend on experience).For licensed LDO's there is additional opportunities for contact lens work (and more bonuses)
If you have experience working in the optical industry but you are not an optician yet, We will offer you an apprenticeship and free training so you can pass the testing required to become a licensed optician after meeting the state requirements.

Job Responsibilities:
- (With training & lots of help) Manage our optical department (Glasses, Contact lenses)
- Work with patients to customize their eyewear
- Pleasant patient communication is very important!
- Working Saturdays with Monday off
- Dispensing eyewear to include necessary adjustments and patient education on proper care
