The Location: Taconic Biosciences is seeking an Internal Communication Specialist to join our dedicated Administration team in this hybrid position at the Rensselaer, NY site. This position requires being onsite 2-3 days per week.
The Pay Range: $70,000 - $75,000. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors. These factors include geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions and could exceed the advertised salary range, however, please note that the upper end of the range is not guaranteed to be offered.

As the Internal Communication Specialist, you will serve as the central point for employee communications and engagement at Taconic. Your mission is to foster connection between employees, across departments, and with leadership, strengthening our culture and positively impacting employee retention. You’ll play a key role in shaping how our workforce experiences Taconic, through communication strategies, community-building initiatives, and in-person and virtual events. A critical part of this role is supporting visibility and engagement for our C-suite leaders, especially the CEO, ensuring they remain accessible, ethical, and connected to employees at all levels. This highly trusted position requires discretion, creativity, and the ability to work independently in support of the Taconic Leadership Team. The position reports to the Director of Administration, with a dotted line to the CEO.

Occasional travel is required, generally 2-5 trips per year.

Core Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the CEO to ensure the accomplishment of both daily and long-term objectives.
- Build communities among staff by improving and maintaining employee engagement for remote and flex team members by organizing virtual events, communities and communications.
- Boost and maintain CEO visibility and engagement with employees.
- Responsible for communicating organizational information to all employees through such channels as Taconic’s intranet, Weekly Update and information monitors.
- Plans, develops presentations, and facilitate the Weekly Update meeting.
- Requires close communication with Marketing Staff.
- Assists the CEO and members of the Leadership Team with administrative duties and completes a broad variety of administrative tasks, including calendar management; completing expense reports; composing and preparing correspondence; arranging complex and detailed travel plans, itineraries and agendas.
- Responsible for corporate (internal) level meetings including, but not limited to; Taconic Kick Off, Board of Directors, Scientific Advisory Board, National Sales, leadership retreat, and other meetings and dinners requested by Leadership Team members.
- Ability to negotiate hotel and event contracts.
- Support regular monthly and quarterly meetings including but not limited to: Monthly Operating Review, Leadership Team Strategic Discussion and Quarterly Operating Review.
- Ensure events are well organized, on budget and communicated
- May supervise administrative and temporary clerical staff.
- Provides back up to the Director Administration
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience in business or communications roles.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting C-suite executives and managing corporate-wide communications.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience of advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, especially Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Minimum 2 years of overall experience in internal communications or a related field requiring independent problem-solving and adaptability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience creating clear messaging and responding to complex inquiries.
- Proven ability to engage and influence at all organizational levels, exercising discretion, empathy, and sound judgment.
- Comfortable working independently, interpreting guidelines, and making informed decisions in a dynamic environment.
