Job Overview – Substance Abuse Counselor (Master’s Level) :
Join our client as a Substance Abuse Counselor in Norristown, PA. This temporary role involves providing therapeutic support, conducting assessments, and developing individualized treatment plans for individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges. You’ll work collaboratively to facilitate recovery and improve overall well-being.
Compensation : $25 / hour
Location : Norristown, PA
Schedule : Monday to Friday, 8 : 00 AM – 4 : 00 PM
Responsibilities as the Substance Abuse Counselor (Master’s Level) :
Intake and Assessment : Conduct comprehensive intake assessments, including recommendations for appropriate treatment plans.
Therapeutic Support : Provide individual, group, and family therapy to individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use issues.
Case Management : Maintain an active caseload, engaging individuals in ongoing treatment and tracking treatment plans and required documentation to meet program goals.
Clinical Collaboration : Participate in clinical group meetings to discuss treatment goals, progress, and discharge planning.
Documentation : Accurately enter treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant data into the electronic medical record system in compliance with agency guidelines. Qualifications for the Substance Abuse Counselor (Master’s Level) :
Education : Master’s degree in a human services field required.
Experience : Minimum of 2 years’ experience providing direct therapy in mental health, substance use, or intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) settings.
Technical Skills : Proficiency in standard business software and electronic healthcare database programs.
Licensure : Valid, non-restrictive driver’s license required.
