Health, Life, Pension, Deferred Comp, Reimbursement Accounts, Voluntary Plans, Worker’s Compensation, Leave of Absence); Manages systems to assist employees in benefits selection. Implements and manages new benefit programs for the District. Performs a variety of activities relating to the Hospital personnel function.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Processes various employee programs (eg. Health, Life, Pension, Deferred Comp, Reimbursement Account, Voluntary Benefit Plans, Worker’s Compensation); provides forms and aid to employees and problem solves on their behalf; provides required reporting to brokers and vendors; acts as liaison between employees and benefit providers.
- Leave of absence administration.
- Works closely with CHRO to design, develop and implement benefit packages for the organization.
- Administers retirement plans including preparing annual Employer Pension Plan contribution and semi-annual Employer Match for Deferred Comp Retirement plan.
- Ensures that policies, procedures and programs are in alignment with the organization’s overall Strategic objectives and HR vision.
- Oversees benefit and retirement programs for compliance with government regulations.
- Educates, mentors and trains HR staff on processes and professional practices of benefits administration.
- Interprets personnel and benefits procedures for employees and managers.
- Inputs, updates and monitors employee benefit information in hospital and third party administrator computer systems.
- Verifies benefit deduction and contribution reporting are prepared for Accounting and Third Party Vendors biweekly.
- Verifies life insurance conversion and portability notices are completed as required.
- Completes benefits surveys and benchmarking and recommends benefit changes to maintain competitive benefit packages.
- Completes child support orders for benefits and provides backup for employment and benefits information as requested by the public and other employers.
- Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior.
- Complies with System policies and procedures.
- Other duties as may be assigned.

- Three years of work related experience including at least one year of health care related experience.
- Demonstrated public relations, communications and typing skills. Mathematical and accounting skills required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. Five years’ experience in Benefits Administration, HR master’s degree or advanced HR certificate.
