Summary
Directs and coordinates support services for clerical activities of the Cancer Center related to the process of scheduling, reception, new patient referrals, and financial counseling while maintaining the highest level of customer service to Tahoe Forest Hospital System (TFHS) customers, internal and external.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The Operations Manager of the Cancer Center will establish a positive working environment with physicians, staff, and outside key stakeholders, promote open communication, and work toward achieving goals by driving quality improvement while following policies and procedures accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote effective communication and operational efficiency.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to staff, fostering professional development and enhancing team performance.
- Identifies, creates and implements written procedures for all support services.
- Establishes staffing patterns appropriate for the successful departments support services operations.
- Oversees inventory, ordering, and daily assignments.
- Identifies and implements necessary remedies for potential problem areas.
- Develops and maintains departmental Quality Assurance plan.
- Hires, evaluates and disciplines staff as necessary.
- Assists Director in developing and administering Capital and Operating budgets.
- Acts as a resource to staff in identifying problems and problem resolution.
- Develops department goals with appropriate stakeholders input.
- Implements staffing patterns appropriate to department as approved by Director.
- Coordinates staff training, development and education.
- Ensures compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Ensures department compliance with HFAP, Title 22 guidelines, regulations and laws.
- Demonstrates a creative approach to communication and problem solving applying communication principles.
- Demonstrates leadership and professional growth.
- Understands and promotes the organization's philosophy and maintains the organization's positive image.
- Continuously explores new ideas for improving efficiencies while maintaining or enhancing quality and customer satisfaction.

- Works with Director on issues related to new services and long term plans.
- Provides input into Marketing Plan, Strategic Plan, development of new service ideas including expected benefits and costs.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Bachelor's Degree and/or or 2-3 years relevant experience

Required:
- Minimum of 2-3 years supervisor experience in a similar setting.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage projects, and drive organizational change.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Computer/Business Skills
Ability to use office machines. Extensive knowledge and ability to use word processing and other Microsoft Office programs.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
