Job Summary: The Assistant golf professional helps oversee the daily operations of the golf course and provide customer service to golfers. As an Assistant Golf Professional, your job duties include doing club fittings and repairs, serving as course attendant, and checking golfers in and out according to their tee times. You need strong customer service skills and an understanding of golf.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Oversee and assist in all tournament operations and conduct weekly meetings in conjunction with the Sales and Marketing Coordinator
- Ensure that superior standards of service are at all times meeting the requirements of our guests and employees and are constantly being improved upon
- Develop and enforce tournament regulations
- Work with superintendent to insure the golf course is in tournament condition and to address any specific needs
- Attend exhibitions, buying shows, tournaments, and educational seminars to stay abreast in the golf industry
- Meet with the staff at all levels to plan for the future of golf as well as expediting the needs of the current expectations
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume
- Uphold community support through involvement in organizations and/or charitable events
- Educate, train, retrain, and develop team member in golf operations, tour organization and execution, merchandising and proper check-in procedures
- Directly supervise staff by carrying out the responsibilities in accordance with Tahoe Club Company’s policies and procedures. This will include planning, assigning, and at times performing activities of workers supervised
- Other job duties as assigned
Because of the fluctuating demands of the Club’s operation, it may be necessary that each employee perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your job, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other employees are expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks, not specifically addressed above.
Qualifications
Education/Experience: Bachelors degree or Equivalent; or 4 years related experience and/or training; or Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language/Communication: Must possess basic computer skills – Word and Excel.Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, financial reports, and legal documents. Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations. Fundamental supervisory practices and principles. Must be extremely organized, efficient and detail-oriented. Must be highly motivated, goal driven and self-starter. Must be able to work as part of a team and maintain open communication with managers and fellow coworker. Must display professional demeanor and communicate in professional language at all times. Ability to work weekends and holidays.
Certificates/Licenses/Safet Training: Class A PGA Membership in good standing. Golf Cart Safety, CPR Preferred
