Forklift Operator

Position Summary

Tahoma Global Logistics (TGL) is seeking qualified candidates for our Forklift Operator position. This position will operate stand-up forklifts at our transload warehouse facility in Fife. Ideal candidates will also have clamp attachment operation experience. Payrate for this position is $27.00 - $30.00 / hour.

Responsibilities

• Excellent attendance for all scheduled shifts
• Ensure the safe and efficient movement of goods within the warehouse; load and unload products from tractor trailers using utilizing forklifts and/or other equipment
• Check that loads are centered, properly stacked, and secured; shrink-wrap goods or otherwise secure them to prepare them for transport
• Perform pallet building and pallet picking tasks as required
• Verify PO numbers and sort/segregate products as needed
• Document the arrival, departure, and movement/storage of goods accurately
• Maintain a clean work area and ensure all warehouse activity complies with company policies, safety regulations, and standards
• Perform quality assurance (QA) duties, including reporting product damage and shortages
• Perform regular checks to ensure forklifts are in safe working condition, including battery charging and maintenance
• Contribute wherever possible, for improvements regarding safety, quality, delivery, and cost through continuous improvement methods identify potential areas of risk, and promptly share critical business information with key stakeholders to maximize results throughout TGL
• Coordinate effective teamwork and use all company resources efficiently to promote superior financial results for TGL; maintain TGL equipment and assets to maximize return on investment
• Establish and maintain effective business relationships with all employees, vendors, business partners, government/regulatory entities, and communities in which we operate
• Strictly enforce workplace safety measures; safeguard the welfare of all employees, guests, visitors, and business partners at all times; promptly report workplace risks, incidents, injuries, and near misses; consistently wear and utilize all required PPE
• Maintain confidentiality regarding all sensitive and proprietary business information and safeguard TGL assets at all times
  
  

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum

• 18 years or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid WA driver's license and a good driving record
• Work experience operating stand-up and/or sit-down forklifts
• Ability to learn stand-up forklift operation and clamp attachment operation
• Ability to count, record, analyze, reconcile, and interpret business data; and enter data into business forms/computer systems
• Ability to problem solve, multi-task, and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Self-driven and ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English
• Able to maintain a positive work attitude and demeanor in a team environment
• Culturally sensitive and works well with the full diversity of our company and community
• Ability to transport self over multi acre work site of varied terrain and climb in/out of equipment
• Ability to work non-standard hours to accommodate business needs, including nights, weekends, overtime, and holidays
• Ability to pass background check
  
  

Preferred

• Two years of experience in warehouse operations
• Work experience operating stand-up and sit-down forklifts, including the ability to efficiently operate clamp attachments
• Knowledge of transloading, multi-DC customer operations, supply chain processes, and general warehouse workflows
• Any industry related education, training or certifications
