POSITION SUMMARY:
Tahoma Global Logistics (TGL) is seeking qualified candidates for our Hostler positions at our fast-growing warehouse and logistics company, based within and near the Port of Tacoma, WA. This position will operate tractor trailer equipment to facilitate the safe and efficient movement of equipment and products throughout our warehouse and yard facility. Pay rate for this position is $30.00 - $35.00 / hour.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Excellent attendance for all scheduled shifts
- Operate tractor-trailer equipment in compliance with D.O.T. regulations, both on and off company property, to facilitate safe and efficient docking, loading, and unloading of products
- Regularly communicate with warehouse and transportation staff to ensure proper trailer drop-and-hook locations
- Inspect and monitor tractor-trailers for defects and proper operating condition
- Wash and sweep out trailers as needed and chock wheels once trailers are properly docked; follow proper air line lock procedure for each trailer
- Park tractor-trailers in designated areas, maintain a clean work area, and ensure all warehouse/yard activity complies with company policies, safety regulations, and standards
- Contribute wherever possible, for improvements regarding safety, quality, delivery, and cost through continuous improvement methods identify potential areas of risk, and promptly share critical business information with key stakeholders to maximize results throughout TGL
- Coordinate effective teamwork and use all company resources efficiently to promote superior financial results for TGL; maintain TGL equipment and assets to maximize return on investment
- Establish and maintain effective business relationships with all employees, vendors, business partners, government/regulatory entities, and communities in which we operate
- Strictly enforce workplace safety measures; safeguard the welfare of all employees, guests, visitors, and business partners at all times; promptly report workplace risks, incidents, injuries, and near misses; consistently wear and utilize all required PPE
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all sensitive and proprietary business information and safeguard TGL assets at all times
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum
- 18 years or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Washington State driver’s license with good driving record
- 2 years of tractor-trailer driving experience, including hauling sea containers, backing, parking, and operating equipment in extreme weather and climatic conditions
- Proficient in using a tablet or Apple iPad to record cargo movements.
- Must be able to meet turn KPI’s for switching and moving trailers
- Ability to count, record, analyze, reconcile, and interpret business data; and enter data into business forms/computer systems
- Ability to problem solve, multi-task, and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Self-driven and ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively communicate with drivers, TGL staff, and customers to maintain positive customer relations
- Maintain a positive work attitude and demeanor in a team environment.

- Ability to transport self over multi acre work site of varied terrain and repeatedly climb into and out of road or switch trailers
- Ability to work non-standard hours to accommodate business needs, including nights, weekends, overtime, and holidays
- Ability to pass background check
Preferred
- Current CDL and/or DOT medical certification card
- 2 years of experience operating as a Hostler in warehouse and cargo terminal/yard operation
- General knowledge of transloading, multi-DC customer operations, supply chain processes, and general warehouse workflows
- Any industry related education, training or certifications
