Inspects and oversees Contractors' work of specific crafts performed for the construction of pipelines and facilities to ensure that procedures and materials comply with contract specifications, codes, and industry standards. Various. Inspections are generally limited to a specific area or task.
Documents construction inspections, Contractor's efforts, and materials used on the project.
Records and notifies Chief Inspector of deviations from construction specifications, drawings, permits, and governing regulations.
Evaluates premises for safety, participating in daily tailgate meetings and enforcing company safety programs.
Verifies craft discipline work is performed in compliance to specifications, plans, and codes.
Observes work in progress to ensure that procedures followed, and materials used conform to specifications.
Prepares samples of unapproved materials for laboratory testing.
Examines quality of finished installations for conformity to standards and approves installation.
Interprets plans and specifications for construction contractor and discusses deviations from specified construction procedures to ensure compliance with regulations governing construction.
Records quantities of materials received or used during specified periods noting deviations or exceptions to the specifications, drawings, permits, or governing regulations.
Maintains daily log of construction and inspection activities and compares progress reports.
Prepares sketches of construction installations that deviate from drawings.
Requirements
Experience
Required / Preferred
- Required : 5 years oil and gas construction inspection or other related experience
- Preferred : 8 years oil and gas construction inspection or other related experience
Licensing / Certification
Required / Preferred
ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section IX - Welding and Brazing Qualifications.
Visual inspection of welded joints.
