About the Job
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental, Safety, & Health Manager to join the Tailored Brands Risk Management team. This position will report to and support the Director of Insurance, Safety & Risk Management and is responsible for providing Company-wide leadership in the management of companywide Environmental Safety & Health programs. The Manager will ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations at all Stores, Distribution Centers and the Home Offices. The Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and leading ES&H programs across designated facilities to ensure regulatory compliance, incident prevention, and continuous improvement in workplace safety. This role provides subject matter expertise to leadership and team members, fostering a culture of ES&H excellence. This is a hybrid position with three days onsite in a Houston or Atlanta office location and requires the ability for travel to other Tailored Brands locations approximately one week each month.
What You’ll Do | Key Accountabilities
- Corporate Liaison for ES&H Matters: Act as the primary point of contact for environmental, safety, and health matters, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and strategic objectives.
- Regulatory Compliance & Policy Implementation: Develop, implement, and oversee ES&H programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, ISO standards, and company policies, proactively addressing changes in regulatory requirements.
- Site Audits & Risk Assessments: Conduct frequent site audits, risk assessments, and workplace organization reviews across stores, distribution centers, hubs, and corporate offices to identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and track implementation.
- Subject Matter Expertise (SME): Serve as an SME on local, regional, and company-wide ES&H regulations, policies, and industry best practices, providing expert guidance to leadership and field teams.
- Strategic Oversight & Continuous Improvement: Lead strategic safety initiatives, ensuring compliance, training, and continuous improvement efforts align with company safety goals and risk mitigation strategies.
- Incident & Data Analysis: Analyze safety performance metrics, incident data, and audit findings to identify trends, develop action plans, and propose recommendations to senior leadership for proactive risk reduction.
- Recordkeeping & Compliance Tracking: Ensure accurate recordkeeping and data integrity in safety reporting systems, providing operations teams with meaningful insights for compliance tracking and improvement initiatives.
- Safety Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor safety coordinators and operational leadership, fostering a culture of safety, professional development, and readiness for leadership succession.
- Risk Mitigation & Injury Reduction: Engage with on-site leadership teams to drive long-term initiatives focused on risk mitigation, injury prevention, and creating a proactive safety culture.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with corporate and field safety teams to integrate best practices into standard operating procedures, ensuring consistency across all locations.
- Training & Program Effectiveness: Drive the effectiveness of ES&H tools and training programs by auditing content quality, trainer qualifications, and the overall impact on employee safety and compliance.
- Emergency Response & Preparedness: Establish and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans tailored to various operational settings, conduct regular drills, and ensure employees are properly trained.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary liaison for external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, industry groups, and community organizations, fostering transparent and positive relationships.
- Sustainability & Environmental Stewardship: Develop and implement initiatives aimed at reducing the environmental impact of company operations, such as waste reduction programs.
- Contractor & Supplier Safety Management: Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures for contractors and suppliers, ensuring third-party operations within company premises adhere to the same safety standards as internal teams.
- Technology & Data Analytics Utilization: Implement and leverage advanced technologies and data analytics tools to monitor safety performance, predict potential incidents, and drive data-informed decision-making in ES&H strategies.
- Budget Management: Oversee the ES&H budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support safety initiatives, training programs, equipment purchases, and compliance activities.
- Reporting & Documentation: Ensure timely and accurate reporting of ES&H metrics to senior leadership, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders, maintaining comprehensive records to support transparency and accountability.
- Other Projects as Assigned: Support additional initiatives based on the evolving needs of the business, contributing to the organization’s overall safety, environmental, and health objectives.
What You’ll Bring | Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, Business, ES&H or a related field.
- 5 years of increasing responsibility in ES&H leadership roles within distribution, manufacturing, or service operations. Prior management experience is preferred
- Retail experience preferred.
- Professional certifications preferred (Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent).
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days.
- Strong technical knowledge of safety regulations, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience managing and developing ES&H teams, including both salaried and hourly staff.
- Ability to communicate complex safety strategies clearly to employees at all levels, including senior leadership.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in safety-related databases and performance measurement.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Multi-task and prioritizing skills to complete projects within deadlines, with quality results.
- OSHA compliance programs and other safety-related functions experience.
- Skilled with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), report preparation and presentation.
- A highly motivated, detail oriented, well-organized professional with strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- A self-starter, with the ability to maintain a high level of productivity, accuracy and commitment to quality with minimal supervision.
- An ability to perform investigations in a confidential environment.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends, as needed.
- Must reside in the Houston, Texas or Atlanta, Georgia area.

- Hours regularly 40 hours per week, as work dictates, from a hybrid work location at a Houston or Atlanta office location.

The starting salary for this position is $70,200 – $100,000. We take into consideration an individual’s skills, background, and experience in determining final salary. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
