Job Summary:
Tailored Professionals is actively seeking highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Management System (WMS) Specialists to join our network of consultants and be placed with our esteemed clients in the Memphis, TN area and potentially nationwide. As a WMS Specialist placed by Tailored Professionals, you will be responsible for the configuration, implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of various WMS platforms for our clients. These roles are critical in ensuring efficient warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, and seamless order fulfillment for some of the most recognized names in logistics and transportation. You will work collaboratively within client teams, potentially alongside warehouse operations, IT departments, and external vendors to maximize the value of their WMS investments. These contract and contract-to-hire opportunities demand a deep understanding of warehouse processes and the ability to translate business needs into effective WMS solutions, often within the complex and fast-paced Memphis logistics environment. Responsibilities:
- WMS Configuration and Customization: Configure and customize WMS modules (e.g., receiving, putaway, picking, packing, shipping, inventory management) to meet specific client business requirements and operational workflows, often within different WMS platforms.
- Implementation & Upgrades: Participate in or lead WMS implementation projects, upgrades, and enhancements at client sites, including testing, data migration, user training, and project documentation.
- System Support & Troubleshooting: Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and resolution for WMS-related issues at client companies, ensuring system stability, performance, and user satisfaction.
- Process Optimization: Analyze client warehouse processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement and leverage WMS functionalities to optimize efficiency, accuracy, and throughput, providing valuable consulting expertise.
- Integration Management: Collaborate with client IT teams and other consultants to manage integrations between the WMS and other enterprise systems (e.g., TMS, ERP, e-commerce platforms), ensuring seamless data flow.
- Reporting & Analytics: Develop and maintain WMS reports and dashboards for client companies to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), track warehouse performance, and identify trends, providing data-driven insights.
- User Training & Documentation: Develop and deliver WMS training to client warehouse staff and create comprehensive user documentation tailored to specific client environments.
- Vendor Management (Potentially): Collaborate with WMS vendors on behalf of clients for support, enhancements, and new releases, acting as a liaison and technical expert.
- Stay Current: Continuously expand your knowledge of WMS technology advancements, industry best practices, and new features within various WMS platforms to provide the most current expertise to clients.
- Memphis Logistics Nuances: Apply your understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the Memphis logistics landscape to optimize WMS configurations and processes for clients operating in this region.
Qualifications:
- Must-Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a WMS Specialist or similar consultant role.
- Deep functional and technical expertise with at least one major WMS platform, and ideally familiarity with multiple platforms (e.g., Manhattan Associates (Warehouse Management, WMOS), Blue Yonder (formerly JDA) (Warehouse Management, WMS), SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM)). Please specify platform experience in your application.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management principles, and supply chain processes across various industries.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills to address diverse client challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse client teams and stakeholders.
