.Job Title: Over-the-Road (OTR) 26ft Box Truck Driver

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Over-the-Road (OTR) 26ft Box Truck Driver to transport goods efficiently and safely across regional or national routes. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent driving skills, and a commitment to timely deliveries while ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Driving & Deliveries: Operate a 26ft box truck to transport goods across various locations, ensuring on-time deliveries.

• Route Planning: Plan and follow efficient routes using GPS and company-provided route plans to optimize fuel usage and delivery schedules.

• Loading & Unloading: Assist with loading and unloading cargo, ensuring proper handling and securement to prevent damage.

• Vehicle Inspection & Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, report mechanical issues, and ensure the truck is in safe operating condition.

• Compliance & Safety: Follow all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety procedures, including proper documentation and record-keeping (e.g., ELD, logs, and trip sheets).

• Customer Service: Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with clients, providing updates on delivery status and handling any issues promptly.

• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of working hours, mileage, fuel usage, and expenses as required by company policies and DOT regulations.

• Problem-Solving: Address any road delays, detours, or unforeseen challenges while ensuring minimal impact on delivery schedules.

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not always required, depending on company policy).

• Minimum of [X] years of experience driving a 26ft box truck or similar commercial vehicle.

• Clean driving record with no major violations.

• Knowledge of DOT regulations and hours-of-service (HOS) rules.

• Ability to lift and move heavy cargo as required.

• Strong time management and organizational skills.

• Experience with ELD systems and basic vehicle maintenance is a plus.

Work Schedule & Compensation:

• OTR schedule with multiple days on the road, including overnight stays.
