PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
The Accounts Receivable & Collections Specialist is an integral part of the finance team. This role involves performing day-to-day accounting functions for Takeya USA and contributing to the monthly closing and reporting processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Post B2B, B2C, and Direct Import sales invoices daily, ensuring timely email or EDI dispatch to customers.
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies; follow up on overdue invoices.
- Generate credit reports, assess risk, and manage credit holds.
- Handle cash applications, including wires, ACH, checks, and credit card payments.
- Prepare and transmit electronic deposits to the bank and record them in the accounting system.
- Process and apply credit memos appropriately.
- Address and resolve AR issues or chargebacks, including prevention, identification, and resolution.
- Create and distribute regular reports on collections forecasts, issues, or disputes.
- Reconcile and prepare monthly commissions promptly, maintaining communication with sales representatives.
- Recommend, implement, and document process improvements within Finance and related departments to enhance efficiency and knowledge.
- Oversee special projects and various ad-hoc requests.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Office, databases, and accounting software.
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports.

- Proficiency in reading and writing English.

- The position is based in an office setting with computer and general office equipment; the ability to move freely within the department and office is necessary.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically.
