Job Title: Financial Reporting Manager
Location: Hybrid- 3 days in the office and Wednesday is a mandatory in office day
Job Type:  Temporary until December but can end sooner


Position Summary:
The Financial Reporting Manager is primarily responsible for managing the full financial reporting process, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of annual, quarterly, and monthly financial reports in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Financial Data Schedule (FDS) reporting guidelines.
As the Yardi/Voyager System Super User, this individual will maintain in-depth expertise in the system’s general ledger structure, property codes, and mapping integrity to ensure accurate reporting. The position serves as the primary liaison with HUD’s financial analysts and will provide detailed responses to inquiries and reporting clarifications. This role also conducts trend analyses, identifies discrepancies, and ensures financial data integrity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate financial reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual) to internal stakeholders and HUD in accordance with GAAP, GASB, and HUD guidelines.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the Yardi/Voyager accounting system, including the chart of accounts, property codes, and mapping to financial data lines.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for HUD’s financial analysts and respond to information requests and clarifications related to FDS reporting.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, assess accuracy, and investigate discrepancies.
  • Support audit preparation and ensure that financial statements comply with all regulatory standards.
  • Monitor and maintain financial compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to provide financial insights and support operational decision-making.
  • Continuously review and improve internal controls to safeguard financial integrity.
Qualifications:
  • Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master of Business Administration (MBA).
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of financial reporting/accounting experience, preferably in the real estate or affordable housing sector.
  • Working knowledge of Code of Federal Regulations and HUD reporting requirements strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Yardi/Voyager financial system is a plus.
  • Familiarity working with business operations and interfacing with cross-functional teams.
