Job Title : Protestant Religious Education Coordinator The Protestant Religious Education (RE) Coordinator is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and enhancing religious education programs and events for the Protestant Parish at Edwards Air Force Base, CA. This role works closely with Protestant Chaplains to ensure the smooth operation and development of religious education initiatives, including administrative and logistical coordination. Key Responsibilities : Program Coordination & Development : Oversee Protestant religious education programs such as Sunday Schools, Bible Studies, Protestant Men / Women / Youth of the Chapel, Single Adult Ministries, Vacation Bible School (VBS), and AWANA. Collaborate with other program leaders to align education initiatives with Chapel policies and ministry plans. Plan, resource, and execute the annual VBS alongside the Catholic RE Coordinator. Personnel & Volunteer Management : The contractor is responsible for recruiting, training, and managing personnel to support religious education programs. Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers, ensuring compliance with background check and security clearance requirements. Maintain and secure volunteer rosters, ensuring adherence to privacy regulations. Financial & Budget Management : Develop and propose annual budgets for Chapel Tithes and Offerings Fund (CTOF) and Appropriated Fund (APF) religious education programs. Ensure all purchases comply with financial policies and are properly tracked. Monitor expenditures to ensure alignment with budgeted allocations. Administrative & Logistical Support : Responsible for curriculum management, volunteer coordination, and administrative duties for all Protestant religious education programs. Maintain records, schedules, curriculum usage, statistical data, and reports. Ensure effective advertising and publicity for religious education events through internal and external channels. Attend relevant staff meetings, Parish Advisory Council sessions, and financial planning meetings. Personnel Availability & Scheduling : Personnel are required to be available during Chapel operational hours, including weekends, holidays, and special services as specified. Musicians must be available for rehearsals and all required services (Sundays, Holy Days, special services). Assist in resolving scheduling conflicts and coordinating facility usage. Compliance & Security Requirements : Security Clearance and Background Checks are mandatory for all personnel involved in religious education programs. Ensure adherence to Air Force and Chapel policies regarding privacy, resourcing, and volunteer oversight. Work Schedule & Reporting : Work hours are flexible and coordinated with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) and Protestant Chaplains, with a balance of weekday, evening, and weekend availability as required. Monthly reports on program attendance, volunteer participation, and financial tracking must be submitted to the Chapel Superintendent and Deputy Wing Chaplain. This position requires strong organizational skills, financial management abilities, and experience in religious education program coordination, ensuring a well-structured and spiritually enriching environment for the Protestant community at Edwards AFB.
