Airport Skycap

The Sky captain positions assist in communicating policies and procedures within their operation. Sky captains assist with directing and coordinating activities to provide a safe environment for employees while maintaining fast and efficient services. This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with time constraints to meet arrival and departure goals. A professional and positive image must be consistently displayed by the employee.   Responsibilities: Sky captains must report to work on a regular and timely basis Oversee Skycap Agents operation Able to greet and assist all customers in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner Must be able to lift and carry items up to 100 lbs, lift luggage onto or from a conveyor belt, and push wheelchairs containing an adult Ensure employees are in compliance with uniform, appearance, and personnel protective equipment policies (shaving, uniform cleanliness, and jewelry) Perform any reasonable customer service related job duty requested by Company leadership and/or airline customer Able to stand and work in one location for up to four hours at a time Conduct and/or assist with shift briefings and/or pre-arrival/departure briefings for each flight Work independently without direct supervision Other duties as assigned Requirements: Ability to navigate electronic devices (computers, fax machines, printers, timeclock, etc). A proven track record in supervising a business unit. Experience in operational planning and resource allocation. Experience and understanding of commercial issues in aviation. Must have a High School diploma, GED Must be at least 18 years of age Capable of processing information in a timely manner Must have and maintain a Valid Driver's License Able to proficiently speak, read, and write in English Basic computer literacy Previous ramp or airline experience Must successfully complete all training requirements and maintain certifications throughout employment Must clear an FBI fingerprint background check Physical Requirements: Must be physically fit to perform duties of the job including but not limited to standing, lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time Capable of repetitively lifting up to 70 pounds in confined spaces and repetitively Must be physically fit to perform the duties of the job Willing to work outside in all types of weather conditions with exposure to loud noises
