Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and review of commercial and residential real estate purchase and sale closing documents
- Coordinate transaction closings, including maintaining closing checklists, preparing signature page packages, and reviewing settlement statements
- Order and review title and survey documents, prepare title/survey objection letters, and issue memoranda summarizing findings
- Obtain and review due diligence materials such as zoning compliance letters, UCC/judgment searches, good standing certificates, and estoppel letters
- Review and abstract UCC/judgment/lien search results
- Conduct zoning analyses and obtain zoning reports as needed
- Prepare consents, resolutions, and other corporate documents
- Conduct lease reviews and prepare abstracts summarizing lease terms
- Manage document recording/filing and handle post-closing matters, including preparing closing binders
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree and at least five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong skills in title and survey review and analysis
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other relevant legal software
- Keen attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Strong analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with attorneys, clients, and third parties
- Familiarity with legal terms, documents, and procedures related to real estate transactions
- Ability to prioritize tasks, accommodate urgent requests, and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
