Job Description
Must have :
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent work experience in capital equipment design and service.
2-4 years of related electrical design experience.
Proficient in the use of CAD software for electrical design documentation utilizing SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD or similar system.
In-depth understanding of PLC hardware, software platforms, and HMI programming.
Programming of Allen-Bradley PLCs or CODESYS PLC systems (Bosch RexRoth preferred, Siemens, Beckhoff, etc.)
Experienced in IEC programming languages, Ladder logic, Function blocks and Structured text.
Web development skills preferred, HTML, Java Script, CSS, SQL, Python and Visual basics.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel, up to 20%, including internationally.
Responsible for the conceptual design, component specification, system hardware design and programming. Will work closely with other engineers and technical staff. Responsibilities also include providing engineering support for field service technicians and providing technical training at client facilities as needed. Supports the existing products and work within the constraints of existing methods and standards. Up to 20% domestic travel may be required, international travel is a possibility.
Requires the ability to apply the principles of electrical and electronic theory and related experience to design, program and troubleshoot state of the art packaging machinery.
Knowledge to read and troubleshoot ladder logic within motion controls. including programming of servo drives (AB).
Must have design problem solving skills and be able to work in a team environment.
Customize program features based on customer specifications.
Run initial commissioning of machines using the developed program. Debugging any issues that may occur during initial testing.
Collaborate with team on research and development projects that could be implemented on future projects.
Supporting Customer Service with programming of replacement components on an as needed basis.
Create wiring schematic, program diagrams, and complete bill of materials.
Strong communication skills.
Works well within a team environment but can also be self-directed when required.
Strong time management skills.
Attention to detail and pride in work.
