Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse - Telemetry to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a telemetry unit, monitoring vital signs and managing acute medical conditions. This role requires strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patients' vital signs and telemetry readings continuously.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health management, including pain management strategies.
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, and interventions accurately in electronic health records.
- Assist in the management of acute pain, ostomy care, and memory care for patients as needed.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and provide appropriate interventions.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols.
Skills
- Proficiency in using Athenahealth or similar electronic health record systems.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and emergency medicine principles.
- Experience in acute care settings, including home community care.
- Familiarity with pain management techniques and acute pain management strategies.
- Ability to provide senior care with compassion and understanding of age-related health issues.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
