What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Accountant position at Talent Elite Group?
Job Duties:
- Handle month-end closing processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, preparing PP&E schedules, and financial statement preparation and analysis as needed.
- Oversee and assist with Accounts Receivable tasks such as setting up jobs, managing job completion, performing customer credit checks, collections following established SOPs, and generating reports.
- Supervise and support Accounts Payable duties, including managing purchase orders, vendor invoicing, conducting weekly check runs, handling credit card transactions, tracking monthly recurring expenses, performing reconciliations, and making accruals as necessary.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of records for customers, vendors, subcontractors, and haulers.
- Provide assistance with timekeeping when required.
- Contribute to job costing reports, including WIP reports, daily tonnage updates, and weekly/monthly analysis and reporting as needed.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of tax forms and payments for taxes handled internally.
- Manage cash flow reports and projections by monitoring positive pay, collections, expenditures, and budgeting.
- Provide support for budgeting and analyze budget variances.
- Offer suggestions to improve current processes and help create more efficient and streamlined workflows.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to collect data and improve reporting efficiency.
- Commit to continuous learning through relevant training or courses to stay updated on the industry and career development.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or 4 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Construction industry experience is a must
- QuickBooks experience is preferred, but not required.
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets (intermediate to advanced).
- Team-oriented attitude.
- Motivated to develop and enhance accounting skills.
- Open to learning new software and systems.
- Capable of managing tasks independently while guiding others to meet deadlines and expectations.

Salary : $65,000 - $80,000
