Extremely well run and highly profitable Veneer Mill and Fiber Mulch Processing facility in Graham, WA seeks an experience Plant Mechanical Engineer to join its team. This is a key role in the organization that will be the point person for all Engineering Projects and Process Improvements projects. This person will also ideally be able to manage Environment Reporting and Safety for the plant. This role reports directly to the General Manager. The Plant Engineer is responsible for working closely with the management team to maintain plant operations and to implement continuous improvement and capital projects. The Plant Engineer increases efficiencies of plant operations, maintains plant run time, implements system improvements, troubleshoots process problems, and considers cost factors.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, present, and manage capital request projects and economic justifications for the site
- Identify opportunities for plant improvements and work with a team of technicians and millwrights to initiate and implement continuous improvement and cost savings projects.
- Complete and present data analysis of process information and create associated action plans and identify optimization needs.
- Assist with facility shutdown planning and execution.
- Exercise your problem-solving skills to review operational and troubleshooting challenges.
- Develop advanced knowledge in mill operations
- Develop and become a Subject Matter Expert that teams can rely on for process expertise.
- Support the Management of Change and Process Safety Management documentation for the facility.
- Manage environment reporting requirements including air and storm water.
- Work within Solidworks to conceptualize and execute machine design projects.
- Write and coordinate procedures, and communicate to team members as necessary.
- Facilitate communication between departments.
- Foster a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance at all times.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Experience in Machine Design
- Mechanical Systems Troubleshooting skills.
- Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations is considered an added bonus. May become the point person for Safety and Environmental Reporting
- Outstanding organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Project Management skills strongly preferred.
Salary : $110,000 - $130,000
