Job Description
- The consultant shall be an experienced Senior Network Storage Engineer in order to assist in the management of all centralized storage technologies.
- The consultant will support the Infrastructure Services department in managing the full storage system life cycle, including planning, acquiring, deploying, day-to-day management, and retirement of ISO-NE s storage Infrastructure.
- The consultant will be expected to design, document and manage On-Prem storage solutions, while collaborating with Infrastructure staff & other stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities
- Engineer, design, implement, upgrade, and manage the client's SAN/NAS environment
- Troubleshooting storage and networking issues to do with SAN/NAS services
- Gathering requirements and providing technical planning and documentation to meet future storage needs on a project-by-project basis
- Document process and procedure for storage life-cycle management that can be utilized by the internal team to support existing and future environments
- Install and configure storage monitoring solution that tracks storage health and utilization
- Provide actionable Network Operations Center alerts and run books to assist first level support response to problems
Minimum Requirements
Required
- Candidate's experience must include a minimum of 10 yrs related experience OR the equivalent combination of experience and education
- Must be able to work on-site in either a full time or hybrid capacity
- Must have experience with several of the following block, object and file storage solutions including PureStorage FlashArray or PureStorage FlashBlade, XtremIO, ECS Object Storage, Dell Unity
- Experience with any Data Protection technologies - Rubrik required
- Experience documenting technical solutions utilizing Atlassian Confluence and Microsoft Vizio
- Solid understanding of NFS, iSCSI, CIFS, and FC storage protocols
- Must be able to work independently or with no supervision and have excellent communication skills
- Ability to document strategies and designs; and present to management with benefits analysis
Optional
- Experience with: AWS storage services (S3, EFS, EBS, etc.), VMware, File or Object migrations and tools, HashiCorp Terraform Cloud, Ansible, Bitbucket Cloud
Education
- A Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or similar engineering field is required, or equivalent experience is required
