Senior Engine Calibration Engineer – Internal Combustion & Test Systems
Location: Bingen, WA 98605 (Onsite, Monday to Friday)
Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Engine Calibration Engineer with a strong background in electrical engineering and hands-on experience with engine calibration, fuel injection systems, and dynamometer testing. This is an onsite position in Bingen, WA, requiring a dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced R&D environment and is passionate about internal combustion engine performance and testing technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and perform calibration of internal combustion engines, focusing on fuel injection, ignition timing, and emissions.
- Conduct performance testing, data logging, analysis, and troubleshooting of engine systems and components.
- Utilize and maintain engine dynamometers and test equipment for accurate and repeatable results.
- Develop and modify measurement equipment, including hands-on setup and coding for automated test equipment (ATE).
- Design and troubleshoot electronic hardware systems involving analog, digital, and power electronics for engine instrumentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to improve engine performance, emissions, and durability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in engine calibration, especially with fuel injection and ECU tuning.
- Hands-on experience with engine dynamometers, ATE systems, and automotive measurement equipment.
- Strong understanding of electronic systems, including analog/digital circuitry and power electronics.
- Proficiency in data acquisition, sensor integration, and calibration tools/software (e.g., ETAS INCA, ATI Vision, MATLAB, LabVIEW).
- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
