Job Summary:
A Treasury Analyst is responsible for supporting an organization's treasury functions, including cash management, liquidity forecasting, banking operations, investment activities, and risk management. This role involves monitoring cash flow, ensuring liquidity, and optimizing the use of cash while minimizing financial risk. The Treasury Analyst works closely with finance and accounting teams to provide timely and accurate financial information and reports.
Key Responsibilities:
Cash Management and Forecasting:
- Monitor daily cash positions and ensure sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow forecasts.
- Analyze cash positions to identify short-term borrowing or investment needs.
- Reconcile cash accounts and assist with cash balancing across multiple accounts.
Banking and Payment Systems:
- Maintain relationships with banking institutions, and manage bank accounts and credit lines.
- Oversee payment processing, ensure compliance with bank terms, and manage payment schedules.
- Implement and optimize treasury management systems (TMS) for efficient operations.
Liquidity Management:
- Ensure sufficient cash flow for business operations while optimizing surplus funds for investment or debt repayment.
- Manage short-term and long-term liquidity needs, ensuring the company has the appropriate balance of cash and available credit.
Investment Management:
- Assist in managing the company’s investment portfolio, ensuring compliance with investment policies and guidelines.
- Monitor investment returns and ensure compliance with risk management frameworks.
- Provide recommendations on investment strategies to meet corporate liquidity goals.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare regular reports for senior management on cash positions, liquidity forecasts, and cash flow trends.
- Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and budget analysis.
- Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to improve cash efficiency and reduce costs.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure all treasury activities comply with company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all treasury transactions, financial instruments, and banking activities.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance the efficiency of treasury operations.
- Assist with automation of reporting and transaction processes, as well as system upgrades and implementation of treasury technologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A professional certification (e.g., CTP – Certified Treasury Professional) is a plus.
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in treasury or finance, preferably in a corporate or financial services environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Excel (advanced functions, financial modeling).
- Knowledge of financial instruments, banking products, and financial regulations.
- Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of Risk Management: Understanding of financial risk management concepts, including foreign exchange and interest rate risk.
Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
