What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Operator position at Talent Strategy?
Forklift Operator
Pay: $18 - 20/hr
Shift: 2nd (3:00 pm – 11:30 pm, Flat Rock location)
Job Responsibility Summary: Operate the forklift effectively and efficiently while keeping the safety of yourself and fellow employees a priority.
Job Responsibilities:
- Must have completed MIOSHA test and have operators permit on their person at all times.
- Must have Michigan State Driver’s License.
- Must have hi-lo permit from previous employer and minimum 6 months experience with steel on a 15,500 pound capacity forklift.
- Must have extensive knowledge in the functions, weight, and maximum capacity weight of the forklift.
- Must be able to read tape measure.
- Must have general computer knowledge.
Required Work Experience & Skills:
- Daily safety checks on forklift including brakes, oil, hoist, leaks, etc.
- Locating material and updating if moved.
- Secure and center loads being lifted at an appropriate height clear of all objects.
- Keep area clean and free of debris.
- Make sure material is stacked neatly and safely at an appropriate height in the appropriate areas.
- Make sure material is being loaded per customer specifications.
- Load material onto arms for slitter as required.
- Complete dock audits if required.
