Electrical Engineering Hardware Designer
We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Hardware Designer to join our team, reporting directly to the Electrical Engineering Manager. This role will be responsible for contributing to design reviews, ensuring compliance with electrical and safety standards, and aligning with project and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and refine electrical designs based on project requirements using EPLAN P and ProPanel.
- Assist with troubleshooting and provide electrical support throughout project build, integration, and implementation.
- Select and integrate hardware and software components, including PLCs, VFDs, motion controllers, sensors, safety components, and intrinsic barriers.
- Translate conceptual ideas into precise electrical schematics and layouts.
- Review and finalize electrical drawings, incorporating feedback from production and field service teams.
- Design wiring schematics, back-panel layouts, and related details in accordance with industry standards (UL A, NFPA , NFPA ).
- Generate and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and maintain CAD files.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures, work instructions, and engineering guides.
- Conduct engineering calculations, including short-circuit current ratings, power balancing, and panel heat dissipation.
- Collaborate with project managers, mechanical and software designers, and assembly teams to ensure a fully functional automation system.
- Provide detailed documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Offer mentorship and support to junior team members.
- Maintain project timelines and proactively escalate risks to leadership as needed.
