Telecommunication Engineer
Location: Oakland, CA (frequent on-site work required initially)
Duration: 6 Months (Contract)
About the Role:
We are seeking a Telecommunication Engineer with expertise in fiber (outside plant), microwave, and satellite/LTE technologies to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience designing and building bid packages based on these technologies, along with a background in power utility projects.
This role involves managing complex engineering tasks, working with both internal teams and external stakeholders, and adhering to rigorous safety and technical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the project manager to deliver proposals, technical scopes, schedules, and cost estimates.
- Provide detailed project engineering, including designs and drawings.
- Manage material purchases and track disposition.
- Prepare status and project completion reports.
- Coordinate project meetings and act as the single point of contact for technical issues.
- Ensure compliance with technology and safety standards.
- Create bills of materials and ensure accurate documentation.
- Resolve complex technical issues independently and effectively.
- Monitor and control engineering tasks to ensure timely delivery.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies through training and seminars.
Qualifications:
Must-Have:
- Experience with fiber (outside plant), microwave, and satellite/LTE technologies.
- Proven ability to engineer or build bid packages for these technologies.
- Power utility experience.
- Strong outside plant/fiber experience.
Education:
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering or Information Technology (required).
Desired:
- Recognized industry credentials and/or certifications.
