Telecommunication Engineer
6 Months
Must be located in the Oakland / Bay area
Needs to be willing to go on site frequently at the beginning of the contract. local is preferred.
Scope :
Resolves problems of complex scope. Assignments may require complex solutions. Works independently with limited feedback from other engineers and supervisors. Works with internal and external personnel. External would include vendors, PG&E contractors, and customers.
Must have :
Experience as it relates to these 3 technologies : fiber (outside plant), microwave, and satellite / LTE.
Must have engineered or built a bid package based on those three technologies.
Power utility experience
Must have outside plant / fiber experience
Needs to know how to design, build, and handle telecommunications into a substation.
Job Duties :
Assist project manager in delivering project proposals, technical scope, plans, schedules and cost estimates
Provide detailed project engineering
Manage and track material purchases and disposition
Prepare status reports and project completion reports
Ensure completion of drawings; related design documentation
Attend technical training on emerging technologies
Attend safety training regularly
Adhere to technology standards
Create bill of materials
Act as single point of contact for all technical issues with project managers
Promote the value of safety through conduct and communications; no job is too high that safety isn’t important
Coordinate project meeting requests
Provide detailed project engineering and technical issue resolution
Monitor and control engineering tasks
Identify and pursue appropriate training and trade seminars to update technology knowledge
Education : 4 year BS degree in engineering or 4 year BA in information technology
Desired : Recognized industry credentials and / or certifications
