A strategic HR professional who partners with hiring managers and leadership to identify, attract, and retain top talent by deeply understanding the organization's needs, market trends, and talent pools, providing expert guidance on recruitment strategies, candidate evaluation, and workforce planning to ensure the company acquires the right talent for long-term success; essentially acting as a consultant on all aspects of talent acquisition and human resources leadership.

Core Functions:

The Controller will plan and direct the accounting operations of the company.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
  • Oversees training programs and identifies training needs.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
  • Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
  • Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.
  • Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
  • Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
  • Works with external auditors and provides the necessary information for the annual audit.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
  • Use Moving & Storage software specific to the industry.
  • Calculate and Enter Payroll in ADP Workplace along with all PR reports.

· Prepare Monthly Financial Statements for 3 Related Companies

· Prepare Year End reconciliations and work papers for annual CPA review.

· Prepare Annual Worker’s Comp Audit

· Responsible for various annual compliance reports

· Issue COI’s for moves and secure endorsements for Rigging Projects

· Process & Monitor DBL and WC claims

· Process Auto Accident Claims

· Work with management on all insurance renewals.

HR Functions

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.

· Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

· Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.

· Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.

· Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

· Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring to complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

· Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Education and Experience:

  • Three to five years of experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Able to travel as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $62,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
