About the Firm
Our client, a well-established architecture and design firm in Edmonton, is seeking a skilled intermediate or senior architectural technologist to join their growing team. With a mid-sized, collaborative office and a strong pipeline of projects for 2024 and beyond, they specialize in commercial, retail, mixed-use, industrial, and multi-family developments.
Your Role
As an architectural technologist, you will play a pivotal role in project execution, ensuring technical accuracy and seamless collaboration with the design team. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing detailed working drawings and construction documents in Revit for permit applications and pricing.
- Ensuring that project deliverables align with company and client standards.
- Identifying and resolving technical challenges while contributing valuable insights to project proposals and design solutions.
- Assisting in interpreting and applying zoning by-laws and other building regulations.
- Creating rendered visualizations, including plans and elevations, when required.
- Engaging with internal teams, consultants, and stakeholders in project coordination meetings.
- Conducting site reviews to collect essential data and participating in contract administration duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Diploma or certification in Architectural Technology.
- Six to twenty years of experience as an architectural technologist in an architecture or design firm, with at least three years in Canada.
- Proficiency in Revit is mandatory.
- Experience with commercial, institutional, public, and mixed-use projects is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in execution.
- Familiarity with Alberta building codes and local by-laws is an asset.
- Knowledge of building envelope systems and construction principles.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with clients and project teams.
- Leadership potential is a plus.
