OUR CLIENT
On behalf of our client, we are hiring an experienced Laboratory Manager to join our reputed road construction client in Sudbury Ontario.
Our client operates as a municipal contractor on large road & highway projects in Northern Ontario.
In this role you will be performing design and quality control/assurance on a wide variety of laboratory and field projects including aggregate production, concrete, asphalt and field density programs
- Complete comprehensive evaluations of all specifications on projects and ensure that all work meets such specifications
- Assist personnel in setting up, calibrating and troubleshooting the production process
- Test road construction materials such as asphalt concrete pavement and granular base
- Mentor junior technologists to help develop their skills
- Work directly with supervisory personnel to insure the quality
- Maintain a database for all test results
- Ensures timely accurate communication of all information and completion of all required documentation
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or relevant experience
- Ideal candidates will have 8 years of related materials testing experience including aggregate, and asphalt, however applicants with concrete or less experience may also be considered
- Fundamental understanding of road construction materials and practices
- Minimum Class 5 Drivers license with an acceptable abstract
