• Experience with Inventory Control and Forecasting Email resumes to kbrace@ or call 858.683.8559.   FULL DESCRIPTION : Responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory to meet the company's production and sales needs. This role involves working closely with suppliers, maintaining accurate ERP system data, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring that materials and products are available when needed, without overstocking or shortages. Additionally, the specialist will focus on maintaining strong vendor relationships and ensuring dual sourcing options for key items. The selected candidate will be responsible for : Purchasing & Vendor Management :
• Source, negotiate, and maintain relationships with current and new suppliers to secure the best pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
• Ensure dual sourcing for critical items by establishing relationships with secondary suppliers, mitigating the risk of supply disruptions.
• Continuously evaluate vendor performance in terms of lead times, quality, and pricing, and address any performance issues as they arise.
• Create and manage purchase orders based on production schedules, sales forecasts, and inventory levels.
• Track and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any discrepancies with suppliers.
• Maintain accurate vendor records, including up-to-date lead times, order history, and performance metrics. ERP System Management :
• Maintain and update ERP system data, including lead times, minimum order quantities (MOQ), and stocking levels for all inventory items.
• Ensure that all inventory-related fields in the ERP system are accurate and reflect current supplier agreements and production needs.
• Adjust lead times and reorder points in the ERP system based on supplier performance and changes in demand to ensure optimal stocking levels. Inventory Control :
• Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock without overstocking or stockouts, leveraging ERP system insights and data.
• Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure accurate records and to troubleshoot discrepancies.
• Analyze ERP inventory data to identify trends, demand patterns, and areas for improvement in stock management.
• Adjust safety stock levels and reorder points in the ERP system to minimize the risk of shortages or excess inventory. Forecasting & Planning :
• Collaborate with sales, production, and finance teams to forecast future inventory needs, incorporating data from the ERP system.
• Plan for seasonal inventory adjustments, promotional campaigns, and unexpected demand spikes, ensuring the ERP system reflects these changes.
• Develop strategies to minimize excess inventory and reduce holding costs, utilizing ERP-generated reports and analytics. Vendor Relationship Management :
• Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with existing vendors, ensuring ongoing supply of critical items.
• Identify and establish relationships with new suppliers to ensure dual sourcing for key products, reducing dependency on a single supplier.
• Negotiate favorable terms with both current and new suppliers, including price, lead times, and MOQ, to support cost-effective procurement.
• Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, regularly reviewing contracts and agreements to ensure suppliers meet quality and delivery expectations.
