What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Director of Project Finance position at talisman advisory partners?
Our client is a battery storage developer based out of Texas. They are looking at bringing on a Senior Director within their Project Finance Division.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain financing from various sources, including equity, debt, tax equity, and other financial facilities.
- Negotiate terms and agreements with financial institutions, investors, and key stakeholders.
- Lead the structuring and modeling of complex financial transactions, focusing on tax equity structures to maximize returns and minimize risks.
- Oversee teams handling all aspects of transaction execution, including deal marketing, negotiating financing term sheets, structuring and financial modeling, investor due diligence, transaction documentation, and internal project management.
- Manage the transaction closing process by coordinating reviews and approvals across multi-functional teams to meet tight deadlines.
- Supervise and review team outputs in developing detailed project finance models for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accurate assumptions.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, external partners, and financial institutions to secure funding, manage risks, and drive the financial success of distributed generation solar projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with at least 12 years of experience in project finance, tax equity, and/or investment banking.
- Proven track record in successfully raising, structuring, and closing complex financial transactions, particularly tax equity structures.
- Required experience in the solar industry, covering behind-the-meter and in-front-of-the-meter projects.
- Successful history of managing complex project finance, tax equity, and M&A transactions from start to finish.
- Deep understanding of project financing and tax equity structures, including relevant tax and GAAP regulations, contractual matters, and analytical models.
- Strong skills in financial modeling (cash flow forecasts, project scenario analysis, project risk and return) and transaction documentation (managing financial closing documents).
- Experience in reviewing, analyzing, and negotiating complex transaction documents.
- Proven ability to negotiate and maintain relationships with financial institutions and investors.
- Experience in creating deal marketing materials, such as teasers and confidential information memorandums (CIMs).
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment, managing financial, legal, and internal review and approval processes to close complex transactions successfully.
