This individual will spearhead the company’s ground-breaking Solar and Energy Storage initiatives, encompassing multiple gigawatts of power across the US markets. This role will produce and oversee the production of GIS mapping solutions for the multiple Gigawatts of projects in the development pipeline.

Key responsibilities for this role will include (but not limited to) :

  • Coordinate and manage all geographic information system (GIS) mapping solutions essential for the development of business
  • Establish and enforce a standardized GIS framework for the organization, offering guidance on processes and structure for a growing development team.
  • Verify that projects within the organization's development pipeline adhere to technical and commercial prerequisites for progression.
  • Ensure the supervision and delivery of initial internal GIS / engineering support for the Development pipeline, encompassing optimized site layouts, maps, and exhibits.
  • Analyze data from Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to identify spatial relationships or present analysis.
  • Develop component layers and spatial data structures, involving the acquisition, collection, exchange, sharing, and integration of digital data.
  • Supervise the upkeep of control points employed for registering geographic data; define and implement quality control criteria for GIS data layers.
  • Maintain or adjust existing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) databases
  • Evaluate incoming or existing data for precision, utility, quality, or completeness of documentation
  • Establish and uphold Company GIS standards
  • Support the internal team with documentation, training, and usability initiatives.

Required and desired skillsets, experience and qualifications for this role :

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in geography, computer science, engineering, or a closely related field, maintaining confidentiality about the specific organization.
  • 7 years of experience in GIS, with a preference for experience in the renewable energy industry
  • Exhibit leadership skills, embracing a teamwork mindset
  • Demonstrate expertise in developing and managing GIS databases
  • Exhibit strengths in communication, prioritization, organization, and positive leadership
  • Demonstrate aptitude for independent research, learning, and implementation of knowledge in new areas
  • Display focus and reliability in completing tasks and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Possess the ability to read and interpret technical documentation, drawings, and other specifications
  • Have a deep understanding of GIS / ESRI software and application programming languages, including but not limited to ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, and Spatial Analyst
  • Maintain expertise in data conversion / migration with a preference for script writing / generation to enhance efficiency
  • Exhibit experience in creating shapefiles, geo-databases, and features
  • Possess knowledge of digital cartography, image processing, GIS, geospatial production techniques, and NGA digital data formats
  • Display the ability to analyze imagery and non-imagery source information
  • Demonstrate experience working in AutoCAD in conjunction with GIS products
