Key responsibilities for this role will include (but not limited to) : Coordinate and manage all geographic information system (GIS) mapping solutions essential for the development of businessEstablish and enforce a standardized GIS framework for the organization, offering guidance on processes and structure for a growing development team.Verify that projects within the organization's development pipeline adhere to technical and commercial prerequisites for progression.Ensure the supervision and delivery of initial internal GIS / engineering support for the Development pipeline, encompassing optimized site layouts, maps, and exhibits.Analyze data from Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to identify spatial relationships or present analysis.Develop component layers and spatial data structures, involving the acquisition, collection, exchange, sharing, and integration of digital data.Supervise the upkeep of control points employed for registering geographic data; define and implement quality control criteria for GIS data layers.Maintain or adjust existing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) databasesEvaluate incoming or existing data for precision, utility, quality, or completeness of documentationEstablish and uphold Company GIS standardsSupport the internal team with documentation, training, and usability initiatives.
Required and desired skillsets, experience and qualifications for this role : Possess a Bachelor’s degree in geography, computer science, engineering, or a closely related field, maintaining confidentiality about the specific organization.7 years of experience in GIS, with a preference for experience in the renewable energy industryExhibit leadership skills, embracing a teamwork mindsetDemonstrate expertise in developing and managing GIS databasesExhibit strengths in communication, prioritization, organization, and positive leadershipDemonstrate aptitude for independent research, learning, and implementation of knowledge in new areasDisplay focus and reliability in completing tasks and meeting deadlines with minimal supervisionPossess the ability to read and interpret technical documentation, drawings, and other specificationsHave a deep understanding of GIS / ESRI software and application programming languages, including but not limited to ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, and Spatial AnalystMaintain expertise in data conversion / migration with a preference for script writing / generation to enhance efficiencyExhibit experience in creating shapefiles, geo-databases, and featuresPossess knowledge of digital cartography, image processing, GIS, geospatial production techniques, and NGA digital data formatsDisplay the ability to analyze imagery and non-imagery source informationDemonstrate experience working in AutoCAD in conjunction with GIS products
