Job Summary:
A leading renewable energy company is seeking a Project Development Director to join its development team.
Job Functions:
- Support the objective of developing and expanding a portfolio of renewable energy generation assets.
- Demonstrate success in siting and permitting utility-scale solar and/or wind projects.
- Manage internal and external resources (engineering, finance, legal, environmental, etc.) to successfully advance projects.
- Structure overall projects and manage development through financial close and start of construction.
- Stay informed on the business landscape, including regulatory and environmental legislation.
- Effectively manage and develop teams and subordinates.
- Participate in special projects as needed.
- Position requires onsite presence in the Midwest region and travel to project sites as needed.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, environmental science, land use planning, business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of renewable project development experience (preferably in solar and/or wind) or 5-10 years in real estate development, environmental consulting, or infrastructure project management.
- Strong analytical skills and commercial acumen.
- Independent work ethic with a track record of successfully managing multiple projects.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Proficiency in industry-relevant software (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, Google Earth, Adobe, etc.).
- Experience in real estate, permitting, market assessment, and negotiating commercial agreements.
