JOB TITLE: LOCAL SCHOOL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hold or be eligible for a valid Alabama leadership certificate in educational administration
- Successful experience as a teacher in public education.
- Successful experience as a teacher in the appropriate grade levels.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Principal
JOB GOALS: To assist the administrative team in promoting a sound academic program and ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient operation of the school.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be regular and punctual in attendance.
- Maintain confidentiality of all school-related business.
- Assist with the development of a master schedule.
- Work with the administrative team to develop the Title I budget.
- Assist with safety inspections and safety drill activities.
- Assist with transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services as assigned.
- Assist with the reporting and monitoring of student attendance and work with the attendance supervisor for investigative follow-up actions.
- Assist in maintaining disciplinary protocols and procedures with students; monitor the implementation of the SOAR program.
- Assist with bus protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of students on school buses; communicate with bus drivers in a proactive manner to ensure positive behavior on school buses.
- Communicate on a timely basis with parents regarding the academic and behavior needs of students.
- Organize and implement celebrations to support positive accomplishments of students.
- Assist with job embedded professional development for teachers as needed.
- Review and analyze student achievement data to support teachers in promoting and achieving learning outcomes including providing assistance with RTI plans and protocols.
- Visit classrooms daily and record snapshot data.
- Assist with scheduling and supporting substitute teachers.
- Abide by the standards established by the Talladega County Board of Education and the Alabama Code of Ethics for professional and personal conduct of teachers.
- Uphold and enforce Talladega County Board of Education policy.
- Perform such other duties and assume such other responsibilities as the principal may from time to time assign.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 197 days. Salary according to appropriate current teacher salary schedule plus supplement.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in compliance with provisions of the Board's policy.
