About the Role
The Production Manager oversees daily production operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to food safety regulations. This role involves managing production schedules, supervising employees, monitoring quality control, and coordinating with plant management to optimize processes. The position requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and experience in food manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily production flow, including ice cream mixing, vat pasteurization, homogenization, labeling, and packaging.
- Supervise production operators and floor supervisors, conducting shift checks and preparing for upcoming production loads.
- Oversee and document Monday morning shift meetings and maintain production records.
- Ensure compliance with WSDA and FDA regulations, assisting with audits as needed.
- Utilize computer programs for tracking inventories, inputting production data, and generating reports.
- Monitor production paperwork and verify proper documentation for loading and extraction.
- Coordinate with the plant management team to develop production schedules and ensure timely dairy ordering.
- Supervise and train employees on procedures, food safety protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Implement and monitor sanitation protocols, including CIP procedures.
- Operate a forklift for receiving raw materials and ensure all production areas remain organized.
- Address operational challenges, employee concerns, and equipment issues.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in efficiency, food safety, and workplace culture.
- Ensure products are packaged, prepped, and ready for shipment according to sales orders.
Qualifications
- 1 year of experience in manufacturing or food production.
- Supervisory experience in a production environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other computer programs.
- Knowledge of inventory control processes.
- HACCP and GMP certification.
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to production equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- WSDA Pasteurization License (or willingness to obtain).
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in food manufacturing, dairy processing, or ice cream production.
- Experience with cloud-based programs and reporting tools.

Salary : $58,000 - $65,000
