What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Reservoir Engineer position at Talos Energy?
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities for the position of Sr. Reservoir Engineer at Talos Energy include but are not limited to:
- Create and maintain field development plans for assigned assets.
- Identify rate-add opportunities through recompletions, workovers, and rate optimization.
- Monitor asset performance, identify trends, and provide production engineering support to monitor and optimize well performance.
- Support the G&G staff efforts in the evaluation of exploration prospects through probabilistic evaluations. Support includes estimating rock and fluid properties, expected recovery efficiencies and performing economic evaluations.
- Support corporate development modeling efforts by creating production forecasts and documenting reserve estimates.
- Facilitate approval of opportunities by coordinating the collection of AFE support data, including reserves, production forecasts, costs and economics.
- Analyze recently drilled and completed wells once on production to understand completion effectiveness and reserves assessment.
- Support other disciplines within the corporation with ad hoc requests and projects.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 7 years of reservoir engineering and project management experience
- Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering or related engineering field
- Strong preference for conventional deepwater experience
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Proficient in reservoir engineering skills including: volumetric analysis, material balance analysis, nodal analysis, pressure transient analysis, and decline curve analysis. Engineer should also have basic open and cased hole logging analysis experience.
- Proficient in economic evaluations of drilling, recompletion, and facility projects.
- Proven ability to identify and quantify production and reserve upside in mature assets via detailed field studies.
- Project management skills enabling the leadership of a multidisciplinary team from idea creation through project final investment decision.
- Ability to effectively communicate opportunities with peers and senior management.
- Able to organize and prioritize a diverse and heavy workload.
- Have a strong sense of integrity and the ability to deal with ethical situations effectively.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Employee must be able to sit for extended periods of time and have use of arms and hands in repetitive motion. A fair amount of standing and walking is also required for the position.
