TAMKO is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist at our corporate headquarters in Galena, Kansas, to lead our recruitment efforts. This role will partner with hiring managers, screen and evaluate candidates, and oversee offer and pre-employment processes. Additionally, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will enhance employer branding, engage with universities, and streamline recruitment processes to attract and retain top talent.

- Lead Talent Acquisition Efforts – Oversee the entire recruiting process, including planning, execution, and continuous improvement of talent acquisition strategies.
- Manage Job Postings & Candidate Pipeline – Post and maintain job openings across various platforms (UKG, Indeed, LinkedIn, etc.), track requisitions, and move candidates through the hiring process efficiently.
- Develop Sourcing Strategies – Identify and implement innovative sourcing methods such as career fairs, networking events, job board advertising, and social media outreach.
- Partner with Hiring Managers – Collaborate with managers to understand job requirements, develop accurate and up-to-date job descriptions, and provide strategic recruitment support to meet hiring needs.
- Screen & Evaluate Candidates – Review resumes, conduct phone and in-person interviews as needed, coordinate interview schedules with hiring managers, and arrange travel when applicable.
- Facilitate Offer & Pre-Employment Processes – Extend job offers, negotiate terms within company guidelines, and coordinate pre-employment screenings (background checks, drug tests, physicals).
- Enhance Candidate Experience – Maintain clear and timely communication with candidates, effectively promote TAMKO as an employer of choice by highlighting company values, health and retirement benefits, and key policies, and ensure a seamless transition from application to onboarding.
- Engage in Employer Branding & University Relations – Build relationships with universities, professional organizations, and job boards to strengthen the employer brand and attract top talent.
- Streamline Recruitment Processes – Continuously assess and refine the hiring process to improve efficiency, remove bottlenecks, and enhance the overall candidate experience.
- Ensure Compliance & Record Keeping – Maintain compliance with employment laws and company policies while keeping accurate records in the applicant tracking system.
- Monitor & Report Hiring Metrics – Track key recruitment metrics (time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, source effectiveness) to evaluate and optimize hiring strategies.
- Ensure DOT Compliance & Manage Driver Qualification Files – Oversee and maintain DOT compliance for internal truck drivers by managing Driver Qualification (DQ) files, tracking required certifications, and ensuring adherence to federal and company regulations.
- Manage Talent Acquisition Contracts & Vendor Relationships – Oversee contracts with job boards, candidate assessment tools, and recruitment platforms (e.g., Indeed, LinkedIn, Profiles XT), ensuring effective utilization and ROI while exploring new opportunities to enhance talent acquisition strategies.
- Stay Informed on Recruiting Trends & AI Innovations – Continuously enhance industry knowledge by engaging in professional development, networking, and staying up to date on emerging talent acquisition strategies, including the use of AI-driven recruiting tools and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Human Resources, or a related field
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in talent acquisition or recruiting
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong multi-tasking, prioritization, and time management skills
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently and adjust to evolving needs
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills at all levels of the organization
- General HR knowledge, including employment laws and regulations related to hiring
- Strong technical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to travel up to 10% as needed
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred
