Job Details
The Summer Social Skills Tech will work as a member of the Prevention Team providing social skill training services to clients/consumer and their families under the supervision of the Community Based and Prevention Services Director and Social Skills Program Coordinator. This position will provide direct support and social skills training to clients/consumers who participate in the program by helping clients practice their social skills in real world scenarios. . Prospective applicants need to have the ability to work in an indoor and outdoor setting with clients.
Examples of Essential Functions:
- Provide social skills building services to clients enrolled in the program
- Participate in active and energetic therapy with clients 1:1 and in groups to implement programs designed to increase communication, self-care, social and play skills and keeping clients motivated to learn;
- Maintain professional boundaries with clients/consumers, families, and other Agency team members
- Ability to manage challenging behaviors that occur and work with clients who may aggress e.g. hit, kick, spit, scratch, etc.
- Complete all necessary trainings as assigned including required continuous education, , review of relevant materials and completion of Relias trainings
- Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with Tanager policies, procedures and safety practices
- Required shift is Monday – Thursday from 8:00am – 4:00pm for the duration of the summer program
- Perform additional assignments as directed
Qualifications
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least two (2) years' previous human services experience with children and adolescents
- Previous experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or related developmental disabilities
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work

Salary : $15 - $17
