Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Clinical Services Environmental Services Manager, job incumbent will provide housekeeping duties at the Chief Andrew Isaac Health Center and other buildings as needed.

Essential Functions

Representative Duties: Under the general supervision of the Clinical Services Environmental Services Manager, job incumbent will be assigned from the following representative duties:
1. Cleans and sanitizes bathroom fixtures, drinking centers, hand washing areas, trash containers and lids, doorknobs, all stainless steel, walls, exam rooms and all other surfaces prone to harbor communicable diseases; refills, paper and soap dispensers, replaces light bulbs as necessary, and reports all repairs to supervisor.
2. Must be able to work nights, evenings, weekends, overtime and holidays.
3. Performs general cleaning tasks such as but not limited to trash/recycling/biohazard removal, dusting, wet wiping, glass cleaning, vacuuming, polishing and mopping, waxing and stripping.
4. Outside garbage pick-up and disposal.
5. Thoroughly cleans and sanitizes bathrooms which include toilets, sinks, floors and furniture.
6. Adds and performs sections of "Detail Cleaning" such as wiping ceiling vents, high/low dusting, wiping and cleaning mirrors, window sills, stainless steel, door panels, exam tables, display cases and break area tables. Wiping furniture and equipment throughout the building, edge vacuuming and baseboard cleaning,
7. Thoroughly cleans break room surfaces to include counters, tables, sinks and floors, chairs and other furniture.
8. Performs basic equipment care, checks for wear and damage on assigned equipment.
9. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulation.
10. Deep cleaning of exam rooms and other areas as needed or required. 11. Must stay current and knowledgeable on proper disinfection practices and infection control requirements by following DSH standards and techniques for infection reduction.
12. Performs light and heavy extraction carpet cleaning and scrubbing of safety flooring using automated equipment. Performs stripping and waxing of floors using automated equipment.
13. Replenishes janitorial type supplies in all areas, such as hand soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. Keeps paper and chemical supplies stored in work rooms neat and organized.
14. Follows the rules and intent of the department's regulations and safety guidelines.

1. High School Diploma or GED;
2. One year experience in Housekeeping preferred.
3. Must be eighteen (18) years old or older.
4. Must pass background check pursuant to federal Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act requirements and State of Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Ability to communicate verbally and/or in writing.
2. Ability to follow instructions appropriately and use sound judgment
3. Ability to work as a team member with other staff.
4. Ability to lift or carry at least 50 lbs., and carry supplies, garbage and other items.
5. Must maintain strict confidentiality.

Supervision
Physical demands: Work requires walking, standing, and lifting for extended periods of time. Contact with cleaning and disinfectant solvents or chemicals are required of this position for most of the time. Incumbent will be expected to lift and carry supplies, garbage, and other items for short distances. May occasionally have the potential of exposure to blood and body fluids.
