What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Officer position at Tandem Health?
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Focuses efforts to support a positive and productive work environment for employees.
- Responds to employee or supervisor questions related to HR policy, procedure or practice.
- Develops, recommends, and implements Human Resources policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures.
- Annually reviews and makes recommendations to Executive Management and Board of Directors for improvement of Tandem Health's Human Resources policies, procedures, and practices to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
- Communicates changes in Human Resources policies and procedures and ensures proper compliance is followed.
- Communicates other Human Resources or Tandem Health information to keep employees informed.
- Identifies and supports or leads employee engagement activities, such as wellness initiatives or community service.
- Designs and/or leads training efforts for the organization.
- Leads recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt positions, students, and temporary employees, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Writes and revises job descriptions for both new and existing positions.
- Implements and updates compensation program following established schedule.
- Oversees administration of new hire offers, market adjustments and other salary increases.
- Prepares offers of employment and/or employment contracts for CEO review/approval.
- Acts as resources for supervisors addressing employee performance issues.
- Conducts employee relations counseling, as needed, or facilitates supervisor-led counseling/coaching.
- Oversees and facilitates employee performance feedback program and revises as necessary.
- Establishes and maintains department records and reports.
- Completes reporting required by law or that which benefits Tandem Health, such as participating in salary surveys.
- Represents the company for unemployment claims, as needed.
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures Tandem Health's compliance.
- Ensures compliance with Federal and State legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
- Coordinates and/or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation.
- Coordinates and/or conducts employee satisfaction or other relevant surveys, as appropriate.
- Recommends, evaluates, and participates in employee development initiatives for the Center.
- Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, and/or as directed by the CEO on employee issues.
- Develops and maintains a human resources system that meets Tandem Health employee information needs.
- Participates in educational or community outreach activities, as needed.
- Sponsors and oversees Employee Events Committee and related activities.
- Ensures proper documentation and administration of Employee Care Fund and Employee Events Committee accounts.
- Participates in Executive Leadership Team meetings and attends other meetings, such as HR educational seminars or HR Networking opportunities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience
- A bachelor's degree and five (5) years' Human Resources experience, OR
A master's degree in Human Resources Management and four (4) years' experience in the HR field, OR
Nine (9) years' experience in the HR field, OR
Any appropriate combination of education and experience
- Human Resources Professional Certifications preferred (PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP).
