Maintenance

Position Summary

The Maintenance Worker will assist with all aspects of building repair and maintenance of all buildings, grounds and safety of the environment.

Job Responsibilities

1. Performs duties such as painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, furniture assembly, snow removal, equipment repair, preventative maintenance, and other duties as deemed competent.
2. Follows Safety Data Sheets ensuring compliance with hazardous materials guidelines as appropriate.
3. Maintains the building and grounds in compliance with Federal, State and local laws.
4. Assists with keeping an inventory of equipment and appropriate documentation to support any inspections or services performed. 
5. Assists with testing and maintaining key utilities & systems including fire alarm, generator, electrical, water, medical gas, emergency management protocols and documenting such testing with outcomes and plans for improvement if needed.
6. Assists with updating logs and testing records as outlined in the policies and procedures of the Maintenance Department.
7. Ensures maintenance requisition logs are available and addressed by the department in key areas of the facility. 
8. Assists with maintaining par levels and ordering supplies for the department with the Director’s and/or Administrator’s approval.
9. Assists with orientating new employees in the department.
10. Remains on call for emergencies as directed by Administration.
11. Assists with the preparation for successful surveys and accreditation inspections. 
12. Performs all other duties as requested.

• Must be an independent worker possessing the ability to handle a job from start to finish.

• Good communication skills (written and verbal).
• Work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Speak, read, write, and understand English effectively at a level appropriate for the safe and effective performance of the job.
• Basic computer skills to complete the essential functions of the position. 

Educational, Licensure and Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous maintenance/repair experience preferred. 
• Knowledge of the maintenance tools, equipment and materials preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, squat and bend.

• Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing. 
• The overall physical demand rating is moderate with exerting twenty (30) pounds of frequently.
