A medical services company in Tennessee is currently seeking a new Environmental Health / Radiation Safety Officer. In this role, the Environmental Health / Radiation Safety Officer will be responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and managing all aspects of a comprehensive radiation safety program.
Responsibilities :
The Environmental Health / Radiation Safety Officer will :
- Handle the training, coaching and select professional development associated with the Radiation Safety Program
- Evaluate and provide feedback to site and division leadership involved with radiation safety to ensure compliance actions and operations are implemented
- Develop and implement strategic objectives for the Radiation Safety program
- Develop, approve, review, and implement radiation safety program policies and procedures for the safe use of radioactive materials, ionizing radiation, and radiation-producing machines and equipment
- Serve on the safety committee and subcommittees and facilitates the performance of their duties
- Investigate all incidents and deviations from approved radiation safety policies, procedures, and practices to implement corrective actions as needed
- Implement new radiation safety and security regulations and requirements
- Conduct administration of documentation required for radioactive source transactions
- Perform other related duties, as assigned
